What we do
Our Work
From immigration policy to public health — helping research reach further.

Detention Pregnancy Tracker
The Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC) knew that immigrant detention can be uniquely dangerous for women who are pregnant, postpartum, and nursing—but they had no way of collecting data on this sensitive population. In response to this need, Relevant Research built a secure website on short deadline for collecting case information, then helped WRC launch the platform at a Congressional briefing and generate media attention. The Detention Pregnancy Tracker demonstrates how Relevant Research integrates digital strategies with deep knowledge of the U.S. immigration system.

ICE Detention Dashboard
The recent growth of immigrant detention generated new demands for facility-level data from reporters, policymakers, and researchers. To respond to this urgent need, Relevant Research’s Adam Sawyer developed the Interval Average Daily Population (ADP) method for finding current detained populations at individual facilities, then built a super-stable platform using a static website generator for aggregating facility-level data that quickly became the go-to source for information about detention.

Immigration Professor Blog Platform
The Immigration Professor’s Blog (ImmProf Blog), created by Professor Kevin Johnson, has been a crucial source of immigration news and analysis since 2005—but it was almost lost to digital history. In 2025, ImmProf Blog’s host platform, Typepad, shut down with only 30 days’ notice. To preserve this resource, Relevant Research quickly migrated the blog to a new independent domain, created a searchable archive of 20 years of past posts, and launched the new site with minimal downtime
